Job Summary

J.C. Higgins Corp. seeks Project Manager - Plumbing Division. Since 1924, J.C.   • Annual salary range: $120,000 to $165,000 plus standard JCH benefits
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • The Project Manager is responsible for leading all aspects of the project activities for the projects assigned in accordance with project goals, budget, quality control, and company objectives.
  • Provide project management resources to act for the company in matters pertaining to the successful progress and completion of assigned projects according to established budget, schedules, and contract documents.
  • Ensure adherence to project budget and report any potential risks or discrepancies to the Vice President of Plumbing during the budget review process monthly.
  • Understand complex project plans, drawing specifications, and schedule as well as the resources necessary to complete the project on time and within budget.
  • Ensure accurate and timely project documentation, including but not limited to RFIs, submittals, schedule updates, time records, supplemental work orders, change order pricing, and general project correspondence.
  • Coordinate with the Superintendent and Project Field Staff to determine the priority of jobs – especially when dealing with scheduling conflicts for labor and equipment.
  • Establish, maintain, and track performance standards for all work performed on assigned projects.
  • Perform regular inspections of all work performed on assigned projects.
  • Adhere to the Company uniform project management procedures and cost accounting standards.
  • Foster and maintain consistent and uniform cooperation among all departments in the company.
  • Prepare project expense budgets, revenue, and profit projections for the Vice President of Plumbing.
  • Provide consistent supervision and monitoring of all work performed on assigned projects.
  • Provide technical advice to both clients and employees working on the project.
  • Work with the Plumbing Estimating Team on the bid markup that are consistent with the volume and profit objectives for the project and company.
  • Review estimates and proposal scope letters.
  • Review RFQ/RFP documents for the solicitation of subcontractors and vendors.
  • Possess a high level of expertise in all phases of mechanical/plumbing/HVAC installation and construction.
  • Enforce compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, safety standards, and contracts and report all variances to management.
  • Maintain confidentiality of work and any company project knowledge.
  • Escalate critical and/or sensitive issues to the Management Team with recommendation for resolution.
  • Align assignments to achieve customer and company objectives.
  • Other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Position Requirements / Preferred Education and Experience

  • Mechanical Engineering Degree OR Mechanical/Plumbing Trade Diploma with a minimum of 3–5 years of Project Management experience in the Mechanical/Plumbing/HVAC Industry OR a minimum of 5 years combined Mechanical/Plumbing/HVAC field experience and Project Management experience in the industry.
