Tempus Unlimited, Inc. is a nonprofit organization that provides community-based services to empower children and adults with disabilities to live as independently as possible in the least restrictive environment. The agency, through its programs and services, encourages the inclusion of people with disabilities into the mainstream of society, including social, recreational, family and work activities.

The Adult Foster Care Manager oversees the work of multiple teams that are responsible for the Adult Foster Care Program. Develop and administer policies governing scheduling, and best practices aligning with Mass Health AFC regulations. Uses data and analytics to establish productivity and quality standards. Manage relationships and performance of external parties performing related activities. Tracks and reports on individual and team performance.

Evaluates trends and implements plans to improve operational efficiency and effectiveness. Multi-talented individual with strong attention to detail, time management and managing a remote team. Actively participate as a member of the department management team and the larger organization in support of business objectives.

  • A minimum of 5 years professional healthcare experience working with elders or individuals with disabilities
  • Staff and Operations
    • Workforce and resource management responsibilities for multiple teams including monitoring and assigning caseloads
    • Analyze data and prepare reports for upper management on key metrics
    • Responsible for mentoring current staff and creating succession planning and career pathing for both poor and strong performers
    • Responsible for recruiting efforts including hiring, firing, and succession planning of new and current employees
    • Develop monthly, quarterly and annual goals and action plans
    • Cross-train and build redundant capabilities within team
    • Exhibit and foster team approach
    • Develop and maintain expertise related to Tempus systems
    • Establish group targets and strategy for achieving targets
    • Identify, design, and implement process improvements
    • Remain current with industry trends, regulation changes, and recommend pertinent technology changes
    • Provide monitoring and oversight for efficiencies with all referrals in AFC as well as monitoring LTSS process to ensure accurate and timely submissions
    • Review, complete, and submit monthly billing for program.
    • Support new program development and implementation with program.
    • Handle member or caregiver complaints.
    • Conduct site visits periodically to consumer homes to check quality and provide oversight to staff
  • Communication
    • Coordinate with other functions in payroll & billing to streamline workflows/handoffs
    • Lead department meetings
    • Liaise with other departments as necessary
    • Serve as point of escalation for external contacts
    • Encourage and provide free flow of bi-directional communications
  • Other
    • Support overall mission and objectives of Tempus Unlimited
    • Must report all suspected incidents of consumer sexual abuse, physical abuse and neglect to the Commission for the Protection of Persons with Disabilities (CPPD)
    • Perform other duties as assigned by Director of Community Services

Preferred Experience

  • Supervisory experience is highly preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years professional healthcare experience working with elders or individuals with disabilities.
  • Knowledge of Mass Health Community Programs, Adult Foster Care is highly preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft office

Education: Bachelor’s degree in human services or related field required

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
