Position: Material Analyst – Kitting & Assembly Operations (on site)

Job Details Description Key Responsibilities Material Planning & Analysis

  • Analyze demand forecasts, sales orders, and production requirements to ensure material availability for kitting and assembly.
  • Plan and release kits and assembly work orders based on customer requirements and delivery schedules.
  • Monitor inventory levels of fasteners, components, and packaging materials to prevent shortages or excess stock.
  • Investigate and resolve material shortages, discrepancies, and inventory variances.
  • Maintain accurate bills of material (BOMs) and routing information for kits and assemblies.
  • Partner with purchasing and supply chain teams to support replenishment planning and supplier performance.
Continuous Improvement & Reporting
  • Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) such as on-time completion, labor efficiency, inventory accuracy, and rework.
  • Identify opportunities to improve material flow, kit accuracy, layout, and assembly processes.
  • Support lean initiatives and continuous improvement projects within kitting and assembly operations.
  • Prepare and maintain reports related to material usage, shortages, and operational performance.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Act as the primary liaison between operations, customer service, supply chain, and warehouse teams regarding kit and assembly requirements.
  • Support customer-specific kitting programs and value-added services.
  • Assist with new product or customer onboarding related to kits and assemblies.
Qualifications
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations, or a related field preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in material planning, inventory control, or operations within a distribution or manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with kitting, light assembly, or value-added services strongly preferred.
  • Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.

  • Ability to work in a warehouse or distribution environment.
  • May require standing, walking, and lifting up to 20 pounds as needed
