Description
We are seeking an experienced Metal Stamping Press Operator to set up, operate, and monitor mechanical and/or hydraulic stamping presses producing precision metal components. The ideal candidate has at least 2 years of hands‑on press operation experience, a strong understanding of die setup and changeover, and a track record of consistent quality and safety performance in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.
RequirementsKey Responsibilities
- Set up, adjust, and operate mechanical and/or hydraulic stamping presses (single‑station and progressive die) according to job specifications and CADs
- Perform die changes, alignment, and adjustments to maintain part tolerance and production efficiency
- Inspect first‑run and in‑process parts using calipers, micrometers, and gauges to verify conformance to specifications
- Monitor press operation for abnormal sounds, vibrations, or output defects and take corrective action or escalate as needed
- Complete production logs, quality checks accurately and on time
- Perform routine preventive maintenance and basic troubleshooting on assigned presses and tooling
- Follow all safety procedures, including lockout/tagout, machine guarding, and proper PPE use
- Maintain a clean, organized work area in accordance with 5S or similar workplace standards
- Collaborate with quality, tooling, and maintenance teams to resolve production issues and minimize downtime
- Preferred 2 years of experience operating metal stamping presses in a manufacturing environment
- Demonstrated experience with die setup, changeover, and basic die maintenance
- Ability to read and interpret CADs, work orders, and quality specifications
- Proficiency with precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, height gauges)
- Familiarity with quality documentation
- High school diploma or GED preferred; technical/vocational training preferred
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, and work safely around heavy machinery
- Strong attention to detail, reliability, and ability to work independently or in a team setting
