Position Summary

The Machinist sets up and operates CNC and manual machining equipment, including horizontal lathes, vertical turret lathes, mills, and related tools to produce precision components with extremely close tolerances. This role performs progressive machining operations, interprets engineering drawings and blueprints, and uses jigs, fixtures, and assemblies to ensure accuracy and efficiency.

Compensation

Hourly Pay Range: $30.00 – $40.00 per hour. This range represents the Company’s good‑faith estimate of base pay. Starting pay is based on experience and qualifications. Overtime is paid in accordance with applicable laws. Benefits may include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) with match, paid time off, and holidays.

Essential Functions
  • Perform all assigned machine shop operations safely and efficiently
  • Set up and operate CNC and/or manual lathes, mills, drills, and related equipment
  • Perform milling, turning, drilling, tapping, deburring, sawing, and sanding tasks
  • Interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and specifications
  • Navigate and make minor edits to CNC programs as applicable
  • Verify machines are in proper working order before operation
  • Ensure guards and safety devices are functional
  • Conduct first‑article and in‑process inspections
  • Monitor machining cycles for accuracy and quality
  • Maintain tooling and achieve expected tool life
  • Machine and handle large or complex parts as required
  • Maintain clean and organized work areas
  • Meet production targets without compromising safety or quality
  • Report safety, quality, or maintenance concerns immediately
  • Participate in safety and production trainings
  • Support overtime during high‑volume periods
  • Recommend process improvements and cost‑reduction opportunities
  • Perform additional related duties as assigned
Required

Education and Experience
  • High school diploma, technical school, or equivalent
  • 3+ years of machining or related experience

    Short‑run, prototype, or job shop experience
  • Ability to read blueprints and inspect parts
  • Experience working with medium to large components
  • Strong math, mechanical aptitude, and problem‑solving skills
Physical Requirements
  • Prolonged standing and walking
  • Frequent bending, reaching, and manual dexterity
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally
  • Ability to work around moving machinery, noise, oils, and coolants
  • Required PPE including safety glasses and steel‑toe footwear
Work Environment

Manufacturing machine shop environment with exposure to noise, metal chips, oils, and coolants. Overtime and occasional weekend work may be required based on production needs.
