We are seeking a highly skilled CNC Machinist to join a premier manufacturing team in Stoughton, MA. This role is dedicated to the production of high-complexity, mission‑critical components for the aerospace, medical, and defense industries. This is a technical position for a professional who excels in a "high‑mix, low‑volume" environment where precision is paramount and tolerances are often measured in ten‑thousandths of an inch.
CoreResponsibilities
- Precision Setups:
Independently perform comprehensive setups on 3, 4, and 5‑axis CNC Mills and/or multi‑tasking Lathes. This includes the selection of appropriate work‑holding, tool installation, and setting critical offsets. - Advanced Operation:
Execute complex machining operations on high‑value, difficult‑to‑machine materials including Titanium, Inconel, and various grades of Stainless Steel. - Program Optimization:
Proof out new programs and perform G‑code/M‑code edits at the controller to adjust for tool wear, material deflection, or to improve cycle efficiency. - Quality Control:
Take full ownership of part quality. Perform first‑piece and in‑process inspections using micrometers, bore gauges, height stands, and optical comparators to hold tolerances within ±0.0005". - Technical Interpretation:
Read and interpret complex engineering blueprints and utilize GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) to ensure every feature meets strict customer specifications. - Troubleshooting:
Identify and resolve mechanical or tooling issues during the production run to minimize downtime and eliminate scrap.
- Experience:
Minimum 5–8 years of experience in a precision machining environment. - Technical Skill:
Proficiency with major control systems (e.g., Fanuc, Haas, Mazak). - Tooling Expertise:
Deep knowledge of speeds, feeds, and chip loads for exotic alloys. - Mathematics: command of shop math, including trigonometry and geometry.
- Physical:
Ability to stand for long shifts and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Annual Salary: $75,000 – $95,000 (commensurate with technical proficiency).
