The Stoughton pool is looking for summer lifeguards, assistant lifeguards and swim instructors for the 2025 year! The lifeguard position is a key part of our swimming pool as they enforce safety procedures, provide a safe swimming environment, enforce facility procedures in case of an emergency, and build connections within the community. The instructor position plays a key part in providing instruction, teaching children the basics of swimming, providing a safe learning environment, as well as providing fun and engaging lessons.

The Duties are as follows:

• Inspect facilities for cleanliness, complete general pool cleaning and maintenance duties as assigned and directed such as filtration cleaning and reporting of required chemical adjustments
• Assist in all facets of pool operations including housekeeping, maintenance, till, and canteen operations, change room checks
• Enforce safety procedures to ensure quality swimming
• Build connections and provide a welcoming environment to the community
• Work with others in a fast paced environment
• Maintain certifications and upgrade them as needed

• Provide swimming lessons for the community of Stoughton
• Make plans to ensure lessons are organized and engaging
• Track swimmers progress and see where improvements are needed
• Write up report cards for the last day of lessons to give to parents

• National Lifeguard (Lifeguard)
• Swim for life instructor (Swim instructor)
• Bronze Cross (Assistant lifeguard)
• Standard first aid and CPR level C
• Ability to work with the public and develop connections with the community
• Able to work in a team environment and also work independently

* Pool operators certificate is an asset*

* Lifesaving swim instructor is an asset*

* Courses will be reimbursed for lifeguards and instructors working at the Stoughton Pool*
