Overview

CORT Tradeshow and Events is hiring immediately for Class A CDL drivers in Stoughton, MA. This is not a typical dock-to-dock Class A driving position. The Delivery Driver works collaboratively as part of the Operations team and is responsible for loading, delivering, and installing furniture at tradeshow and event venues to create memorable celebrations for festivals, weddings, corporate events, or large venues such as the Super Bowl.

Pay: $29 / hour

Schedule: Schedule will vary based on the needs of the business; weekends are required

Responsibilities
  • Loading Trucks:
    Inspect furniture to ensure acceptable condition; load truck safely to protect products from damage during transport; ensure accurate loading order of items to meet delivery specifications.
  • Operations Planning & Communication:
    Attend pre-delivery meetings to review logistics, timelines, and client expectations; maintain regular communication with the operations team to report and resolve issues for efficient operations.
  • Truck inspections:
    Complete pre- and post-trip inspections; clean and prep trucks for future shifts.
  • Documentation and service logs:
    Complete all required written documentation; operate an electronic logging device and maintain records of duty as determined by FMCSA.
  • Driving:
    Drive tractor-trailers, box trucks, or sprinter vans on delivery routes in a safe and lawful manner.
  • Deliveries:
    Install and assemble furniture at tradeshow or event venues based on floor plans or client instructions; ensure accuracy, alignment, and aesthetic presentation; perform cleaning, touch up, or repairs as needed; use show-site mobile app to document accurate delivery.
  • Pick-ups:
    Inspect furniture for customer-inflicted damage; load into trucks; ensure no product is left behind at venues.
  • Provide onsite customer service:
    Interact professionally with clients during deliveries and setups, addressing questions or concerns and ensuring a positive experience.
  • Supervise temporary labor:
    Instruct temporary associates how and where to deliver, pickup, load, or unload products onsite; ensure work is performed per client requests and safely.
  • Perform warehouse duties as needed:
    Load/unload materials from pallets, skids, platforms, and docks; put items away and organize within the warehouse; unbox and clean products.
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • 21 years of age or older
  • Valid and current Class A driver’s license in the state of residency
  • A minimum of 3 months of professional experience driving a tractor-trailer; 1 year of experience preferred
  • Physically able and willing to move furniture indoors, outdoors, up or down stairs, and in all weather conditions; ability to lift 100+ pounds with a partner
  • Ability to comply with Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration regulations
  • Per FMCSA Regulations:
    Drivers must read and speak English sufficiently to converse with the general public, understand highway signs and signals, respond to official inquiries, and make entries on reports and records
  • Ability to maintain a valid DOT Medical Examiner Certificate, including passing a physical and drug screening
  • Ability to successfully pass a road test based on FMCSA/CORT requirements
  • Acceptable MVR per CORT’s Safe Driving Standards
