Finance Director

Salary: $140,000–$159,000

• Lead the financial operations of a growing Wisconsin municipality with an approximately $80M budget.
• Serve as a key financial advisor to the Mayor, Finance Committee, and City leadership.
• Join the City during a period of significant development, infrastructure investment, and community growth.
• Lead an experienced finance team while helping shape the City's long-term financial strategy.

• Lead the City's annual budgeting process, financial planning, and ongoing monitoring of fiscal performance.
• Oversee TIF financing, tax activities, intergovernmental funding, and other municipal financing initiatives.
• Provide strategic financial guidance to the Mayor, Finance Committee, and City leadership regarding the City's fiscal health and long-term priorities.
• Lead and support the Finance Department while collaborating with Stoughton Utilities and other City departments on financial matters.
• Prepare and present financial information to elected officials and stakeholders, translating complex financial information into clear recommendations.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 5+ years of government finance experience, preferably within a municipal, county, or state government environment.
• Strong experience with governmental budgeting, financial reporting, and municipal funding/financing activities.
