Job Summary
The Assistant Project Manager (APM) will support the Project
Managerin all aspects of heavy highway bridgepaintingprojects. The APM will be involved inprojectplanning, scheduling, budgeting, resource allocation, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards. This role requires a strong understanding of heavy civil construction practices, specifically related to bridgepaintingand protection, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment.
- Project Planning and Coordination:
- Assist in developing comprehensiveprojectplans, schedules, and budgets for bridgepaintingprojects.
- Coordinate with internal teams, including field crews, and external stakeholders such as subcontractors, clients, engineers, and government agencies.
- Facilitateprojectcoordination meetings and maintain effective communication channels throughout theprojectlifecycle.
- Project Execution and Oversight:
- Monitorprojectprogress against the schedule and budget, identifying potential issues and implementing corrective actions as needed.
- Assist in managing subcontractors, tracking their work, and ensuring compliance withprojectrequirements and safety standards.
- Oversee daily construction operations and ensure efficient resource allocation, including personnel, materials, and equipment, in conjunction with the Superintendent.
- Financial and Administrative Management:
- Support the Project
Managerin managingprojectfinances, including reviewing and coding invoices, tracking costs, and preparing payment requests. - Assist in developing and administering subcontractor and purchase order change orders.
- Maintain accurateprojectdocumentation, including daily status and safety reports, submittals, RFIs, change order logs, and close‑out documentation.
- Support the Project
- Safety and Quality Control:
- Ensure compliance with all applicable safety regulations, including OSHA standards and project-specific safety plans.
- Implement and monitor theprojectquality control plan, ensuring thepaintingwork meets the required standards and specifications.
- Conduct safety inspections and promote safe working practices on the job
