Construction / Underground Utilities Estimator Join the Team at Karvo Companies
Karvo Companies is looking for an experienced Construction / Underground Utilities Estimator to join our growing team. If you have a strong background in heavy civil construction and underground utilities, enjoy building competitive bids, and thrive in a fast-paced environment, we want to hear from you.
What You’ll Do- Prepare accurate and competitive estimates for underground utility and heavy civil construction projects.
- Review plans, specifications, and contract documents to develop complete project estimates.
- Perform quantity takeoffs for sanitary sewer, storm sewer, waterline, excavation, grading, and related site work.
- Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes.
- Develop project budgets and cost analysis.
- Collaborate with project managers, field personnel, and leadership throughout the bidding process.
- Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits as needed.
- Identify value engineering opportunities and potential project risks.
- 3+ years of estimating experience in heavy civil construction or underground utilities.
- Strong knowledge of underground utility installation, earthwork, and site development.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and bid documents.
- Experience with HCSS Estimating Software and Microsoft Office.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and analytical skills.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines.
- Experience with bid projects on ODOT, City or County
