Growing Metals Manufacturer/Distributor Seeking Experienced 1st Shift Maintenance Technician in Stow, OH!
A growing metals manufacturing and distribution facility in Stow, Ohio is seeking experienced Industrial Maintenance Technicians to join their team on 1st and 2nd shifts! This is an excellent opportunity to work in a stable, team-oriented production environment supporting critical equipment used in steel processing operations!
This role is ideal for mechanically inclined technicians who enjoy troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, and working on a wide range of industrial equipment.
Contract-to-Hire Opportunity (90 Days). Candidates who meet all qualification, including those represented under the specifications for top tier pay, could be considered for Direct-Hire.
Shift Information1st Shift: 5:00 AM - 2:30 PM
Candidates must be open to overtime, which is frequently worked on Saturdays.
Pay rate is $26 - $35 per hour (based on experience).
Pay rates above $35 will only be considered in situations where the candidate meets or exceeds the ask during the interview, the candidate’s skill set/work history meet or exceed the ask, and the candidate’s ability to provide certifications/education.
The Maintenance Technician plays a critical role in supporting plant operations by performing mechanical, electrical, and facility maintenance on a wide range of industrial equipment used in metal processing operations.
Technicians will troubleshoot, repair, and maintain equipment such as overhead cranes, forklifts, lifts, grinders, coil processing machines, slitters, and cut-to-length equipment, along with general facility infrastructure.
Experience working with PLC-controlled equipment is required, and CNC machine maintenance experience is a plus.
Key Responsibilities- Diagnose, repair, and maintain production equipment including hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Perform mechanical and electrical troubleshooting, including root-cause analysis on automated equipment.
- Support preventative maintenance programs on cranes, lifts, powered industrial trucks, and other plant equipment.
- Perform welding and fabrication work to repair machine components, guards, fixtures, and structural supports.
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems up to 600 VAC, including motors, drives, relays, and contractors.
- Assist with facility maintenance, including lighting, compressors, plumbing, and general infrastructure.
- Use precision measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, feeler gauges, and depth gauges during repairs and setups.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records while adhering to safety and quality procedures.
- 4-6 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment (or at least 2 years of hands‑on heavy equipment maintenance experience AND experience in auto and/or metals manufacturing).
- Strong mechanical aptitude with experience in electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic troubleshooting.
- Ability to use precision measurement tools and apply measurements during mechanical repairs.
- Experience working with PLC-controlled equipment.
- Welding and fabrication experience.
- Exposure to steel processing or heavy industrial equipment is a plus.
- 6+ years of industrial maintenance experience.
- Strong electrical and mechanical diagnostics on complex automated production equipment.
- Advanced knowledge of PLC controls, CNC equipment, or metal processing machinery.
- Associate degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Maintenance.
- Industrial maintenance certification.
- Certification or advanced experience working with overhead cranes, forklifts, diesel equipment, or similar machinery.
