Salary Range: $18.00 - $20.00

Job Purpose

The Material Handler is responsible for the efficient and timely movement, storage, and organization of materials within the warehouse or production facility. This role plays a crucial part in ensuring that materials are available for production processes and that inventory levels are maintained accurately.

Key Responsibilities
  • Receive, inspect, and verify incoming materials and supplies against purchase orders and packing lists.
  • Safely and efficiently load and unload materials from delivery vehicles, ensuring proper handling to prevent damage.
  • Organize and store materials in designated locations, maintaining an orderly and accessible inventory system.
  • Prepare and stage materials for production, ensuring that all necessary components are available for manufacturing processes.
  • Perform regular inventory counts and assist in maintaining accurate inventory records.
  • Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment in a safe and responsible manner.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure timely and accurate delivery of materials to production lines.
  • Assist in the implementation of safety procedures and protocols to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Identify and report any discrepancies or issues with materials to the appropriate personnel for resolution.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance material handling processes and efficiency.

Qualifications

MUST HAVE A VALID/CLEAN DRIVERS LICENSE

Required Experience
  • Previous experience in a warehouse or distribution environment.
  • Experience with inventory management systems.
  • Familiarity with safety protocols and procedures in a material handling setting.
Required

Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy objects, up to 50 pounds.
  • Basic computer skills for data entry and inventory tracking.
  • Excellent communication skills for coordinating with team members and supervisors.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills to address and resolve material handling issues.
