Position Summary

As the Director of Nursing (DON), you'll provide strategic and operational leadership for all nursing services within our skilled nursing community. You'll oversee clinical operations, develop nursing leaders, ensure regulatory compliance, and champion quality initiatives that improve resident outcomes.

Working closely with the Administrator and interdisciplinary team, you'll create an environment where residents receive outstanding care and employees feel supported, engaged, and empowered to succeed.

What You'll Do
  • Lead all nursing operations while ensuring exceptional resident care and clinical outcomes
  • Mentor, coach, and develop nursing leaders including the ADON, Unit Managers, and Charge Nurses
  • Build and maintain strong staffing practices that support safe, efficient resident care
  • Ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations, facility policies, and best clinical practices
  • Oversee documentation quality, chart audits, clinical reviews, and corrective action plans
  • Direct resident assessments, care planning, physician orders, treatments, and interdisciplinary care coordination
  • Maintain continuous survey readiness through proactive audits, education, and compliance monitoring
  • Lead Quality Assurance & Performance Improvement (QAPI) initiatives, investigations, and quality improvement projects
  • Foster strong relationships with residents, families, physicians, and the interdisciplinary team
  • Create a culture of accountability, collaboration, compassion, and professional excellence
Qualifications
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Ohio in good standing
  • BSN preferred
  • Previous Director of Nursing experience in a long-term care or skilled nursing setting strongly preferred
  • Extensive knowledge of state and federal long-term care regulations and survey processes
  • Proven success leading clinical operations, staffing, compliance, and quality initiatives
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and team development skills

    Experience with electronic medical records and clinical documentation systems
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities
  • Passion for resident-centered care and building high-performing teams
