Bridge Painting Foreman

Oversee and coordinate the painting of bridges and other structural surfaces, ensuring high-quality work while adhering to safety standards. This role involves leading a team of painters, preparing surfaces, applying coatings, and inspecting completed work. Foremen also manage schedules, order materials, and maintain equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervision and Leadership: Leading and directing a crew of painters, including scheduling work, assigning tasks, and providing guidance.
  • Surface Preparation: Preparing surfaces for painting by removing old paint, rust, and other debris, and ensuring proper adhesion of new coatings.
  • Coating Application: Applying paint, stains, and protective coatings to bridges and related structures using various tools like brushes, rollers, and spray guns.
  • Quality Control: Inspecting completed work to ensure high-quality finishes and adherence to project specifications and safety standards.
  • Safety Management: Ensuring all safety procedures are followed, including proper use of equipment, personal protective gear, and adherence to fall protection and other safety regulations.
  • Material and Equipment Management: Ordering materials, maintaining equipment, and ensuring the availability of necessary tools and supplies.

    Collaboration:

    Communicating with project managers, inspectors, and other team members to ensure smooth workflow and timely completion of projects.
  • Problem Solving: Addressing any issues that arise during the painting process and recommending solutions to improve productivity and quality.

Qualifications
  • Strong knowledge of bridge painting techniques and materials.
  • Experience with surface preparation methods, including abrasive blasting.
  • Proficiency in using various painting tools and equipment.
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to safety and adherence to safety regulations.
  • Physical fitness and ability to work at heights.
