To ensure safe and effective running of all Britannia (SBW) wash machines and associated equipment,

conducting installation, service and repair activities in accordance with service department and customer requirements.

• Always adhere to health & safety standards, risk assessments, method statements and other associated policies, whether SBW or customer site requirements.
• Represent SBW in a professional, courteous manner at all times, ensuring company branded workwear is worn when on site or at Alcester works.
• Conduct route cause analysis investigations and rectification on faulty, worn or damaged equipment.
• Perform planned preventative and corrective maintenance on Britannia wash machines and associated equipment and customer equipment, in accordance with work instructions / standards and as scheduled by the service department.
• To carry out the installation of new and refurbished equipment as required.
• Carry out emergency breakdown repairs, both SBW and other manufacturers equipment as requested by the service department.
• Provide technical support to colleagues on machine selection, performance and capability, via telephone, email and on-site customer meetings.
• Comply with training, equipment and development requests in a timely manner, ensuring your knowledge, PPE and works equipment is regularly maintained and within legal parameters.
• Work with colleagues and service department on new product development and to identify areas for improvement, efficiency and cost reduction.
• Ensure all company procedures and documentation is followed and completed on time, including but not limited to job completion on PDAs, vehicle and equipment checks.
• Ensure equipment allocation and stock control is in accordance with company requirements.
• Ensure effective capacity and job planning in conjunction with the service department, exploring areas for improvement and efficiency to enhance service, installation and reduce costs.
• Develop and implement creative ideas to reduce technical failures, providing regular feedback to the service department.
• To always communicate positively and effectively and maintain excellent customer service standards.
• Be willing to spend nights away from home, particularly on equipment installation and to provide occasional weekend cover and be on standby as required.
• Be willing to support occasional in-house activities at Alcester site, as and when required.

• Be competent in machine fitting work, including plumbing and electrical work. Full training will be provided to ensure you are fully conversant with our machines and equipment.
• Understand and follow Health & Safety standards.
• Understanding of basic mechanical and electrical engineering, hydraulics and pneumatics and able to follow works instructions, drawings and electrical diagrams.
• Experience of working with electric motors, drive shafts, pumps, gear boxes, PLCs and PCBs.
• Comfortable using ladders, harnesses and working at height (up to 6m).
• Possess or willing to obtain IPAF/MEWP licence.
• IT savvy – able to use PDAs, email, MS office.
• Comfortable working on site, internal and external and with exposure to the elements.
• Full driving licence, with max 3 penalty points.
• Experience of dealing with the general public, with good customer service and communication skills and comfortable training others.
• Be adaptable and willing to learn.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Be flexible to meet company and customer needs as required.
