Employee Relations Consultant

Lead HR policies at the City of Stratford as an Employee Relations Consultant, balancing in-house expertise with employee relations guidance in a hybrid work model.

In this crucial role, you will report to the Manager of Human Resources, driving the development and improvement of HR policies while offering insight on employee relations issues. Your expertise in legislation, Collective Agreements, and policy interpretation will ensure compliance and organizational effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead development and review of HR policies and frameworks

• Provide guidance on employee relations and workplace investigations

• Develop structured policy governance frameworks

• Identify policy gaps and suggest improvements

• Ensure compliance with employment and labour legislation

Requirements:

• University degree in HR, Industrial Relations, or equivalent

• Minimum 3–5 years HR experience in a unionized setting

• Proven policy development and implementation skills

• Strong knowledge of Ontario labour laws

• Excellent written communication abilities
