Board Of Education Clerk & District Registration Specialist
The Board Of Education Clerk & District Registration Specialist is responsible for providing comprehensive administrative and clerical support to the Stratford Board Of Education while supporting the compliant operation of central student registration. This position acts as the official recorder of Board actions, maintains Board records, and ensures compliance with applicable state statutes, Freedom Of Information Act (FOIA) guidelines, and Board policies.
Additionally, the role supports the administrative tasks for student enrollment and registration.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities:

All other duties as assigned by Supervisor or designee.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required;
Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred. - Prior experience in administrative, clerical, board support, or student enrollment work, preferably in a public school district or governmental setting.
- Working knowledge of the Connecticut Freedom Of Information Act (FOIA), FERPA regulations, Board governance practices, and state education statutes (or ability to acquire this knowledge quickly).
- Familiarity with student information systems, central registration platforms, and Board management software (e.g., Board Docs).
- Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, time management, and ability to manage multiple deadlines accurately.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to interact professionally with Board members, district staff, state agencies, and the public.
- Ability to exercise high levels of discretion with confidential student and governance records.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and district administrative databases.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including required evening meetings.
Working Conditions:
- Full-time office setting with required evening and occasional weekend hours for Board meeting coverage.
- Work requires extended periods of sitting, keyboarding, and detailed note-taking during meetings.
