High School Physiology Curriculum Writer

Two (2) Positions Available

Hours: 15 hours per position (30 total hours across both positions)

We are seeking two knowledgeable and collaborative Curriculum Writers to develop rigorous, standards-aligned instructional materials for High School Physiology. Writers will work in tandem to ensure cohesion and consistency across units, bringing both content expertise and a strong understanding of how high school students engage with life science content.

• Develop and write lesson plans, units, and assessments aligned to high school science standards
• Design materials that emphasize human body systems, physiological processes, and evidence-based scientific thinking
• Incorporate inquiry-based learning, real-world clinical connections, and data analysis opportunities
• Collaborate closely with the second curriculum writer to ensure alignment, consistency, and coherent instructional flow across all units
• Align content to district curriculum frameworks and vertical science progressions

• Bachelor's degree in Biology, Science Education, Kinesiology, Health Science, or related field
• Experience teaching or developing curriculum for high school science or physiology
• Strong knowledge of human body systems including cardiovascular, respiratory, nervous, musculoskeletal, and endocrine systems
• Familiarity with NGSS or state science standards
• Strong written communication and ability to meet deadlines within a limited-hour contract

• Each writer will contribute 15 hours toward a shared 30-hour project scope
• Writers are expected to coordinate regularly to divide content responsibilities and review each other's work
• Deliverables and timelines will be established at project kickoff with the supervising director
