Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Long Term Substitute Classroom Para educator to support the educational needs of students at Wilcoxson School. This position is designed for individuals who are passionate about fostering a positive learning environment and assisting teachers in delivering effective instruction. The successful candidate will work closely with students, providing individualized support and ensuring a safe and productive classroom atmosphere.
Responsibilities- Assist the classroom teacher in implementing lesson plans and instructional activities.
- Provide one-on-one and small group support to students, helping them understand concepts and complete assignments.
- Monitor student behavior and provide guidance to promote a positive learning environment.
- Support students with diverse learning needs, including those with special education requirements.
- Prepare instructional materials and resources as directed by the classroom teacher.
- Assist with classroom management and maintain a safe and organized classroom environment.
- Communicate effectively with students, teachers, and parents regarding student progress and needs.
- Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and training sessions as required.
- Perform other related duties as assigned to support the educational mission of the school.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification in education or child development is preferred.
- Previous experience working with children in an educational setting is highly desirable.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with teachers, students, and parents.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to support student learning and development.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to follow directions and adapt to varying classroom situations.
- Must pass background checks and comply with school district policies and procedures.
$17.00 per hour
