Position: ESOL Teacher (.20 FTE)
Location: Stratford High School, Stratford, CT
Reports To: Building Principal / World Language & ESOL Coordinator
Job SummaryStratford High School seeks a dedicated, student-centered .2 ESOL Teacher to deliver high-quality language instruction to Multilingual Learners (MLs) in grades 9–12. This part-time position involves teaching dedicated ESOL coursework and supporting MLs' academic success across core content areas.
Key Responsibilities- Provide target language instruction focusing on reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills aligned with Connecticut English Language Proficiency (CELP) standards.
- Differentiate instruction and scaffold content materials to support students at varying proficiency levels.
- Monitor language development progress and administer mandated state language assessments (e.g., LAS Links).
- Collaborate with general education teachers to implement effective language accommodations.
- Communicate regularly with families to foster strong school-home partnerships.
