Airframe Design Engineer Senior

• Develop basic data, preliminary design layouts, and detail design for new and revised helicopter fuselage primary and secondary structures.
• Participate in the development and presentation of design proposals and support the product lifecycle.
• Perform airframe layouts including 2D cross‑sectional design, 3D solid modeling, surfacing, GD&T, engineering drawings, and part specification development.
• Design composite laminate structures and define manufacturing and bonded assembly requirements.
• Work with cross‑functional teams within Sikorsky Engineering and Technology across multiple sites and suppliers.
• Travel occasionally to support suppliers, customer meetings, reviews, aircraft build support, and test activities.
• Maintain excellent communication skills to ensure effective teamwork and milestone achievement.
• US citizenship is required for this role due to ITAR restrictions.

• Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline with 5 years of professional experience, or 3 years of experience with a related master’s degree.
• Proficiency in CATIA V5/V6 or an equivalent CAD system.
• Experience developing technical solutions to complex problems requiring ingenuity and creativity.
• Experience conducting research, creating basic design models and assisting in design evaluations.
• Knowledge of technical standards, principles, theories, concepts, and techniques.

• Design experience of metallic and composite airframe structures.
• Proficient drawing and drafting skills.
• Expertise in composite airframe structure design using CPD and composite ply development tools.
• Proficiency in GD&T and model‑based definition.
• Strong Microsoft Office skills.
