The Techncial Sales Engineer will serve as the critical link between Sales, Engineering, and Production teams. This role is responsible for translating customer requests into clear technical specifications, ensuring feasibility of proposed solutions, and maintaining seamless communication through the sales-to-production process.
- Manage and coordinate the successful implementation of special and custom projects, including non-standard customer inquiries, active orders with custom components, and cross-functional technical product analyses
- Collaborate closely with Engineering, R&D, Quality, Production, Sales, and Customer Service to ensure clear ownership, efficient resource sharing, and on-time project delivery
- Partner with Engineering to design and tailor technical solutions that meet client specifications and support both custom and standard product development
- Support sales activities by providing technical expertise, approving sales quotes, and developing technical proposals
- Oversee project timelines from pre-sales through production, ensuring smooth execution, accurate documentation, and successful implementation of new products and components
- Coordinate the development and implementation of comprehensive work instructions for new products and components to ensure long-term quality, precision, and manufacturability; occasionally facilitating Production’s adoption of new components with hands‑on technical support
- Analyze the performance, feasibility, and cost of special components to determine opportunities for expansion into future stock or standard production
- Monitor industry trends, competitive products, and emerging technologies while collaborating with Marketing, Sales, and R&D to position offerings effectively
- Participate in occasional travel, including trade shows, customer visits, and sales engagements
- You have a Bachelor’s degree in engineering and/or equivalent experience
- You have at least 3 years of project management experience and 1+ years of technical sales experience
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills
- Detail oriented, organized, self-motivated
- Advanced degree in relevant field (Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, etc.) and experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
