Position Overview
Hydraulic & Mechanical Flight Controls Group is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support the design, analysis, and manufacturing of aircraft flight control hardware.
Key Responsibilities- Develop & Maintain 3D Solid Models – Build and update models of pushrods, bell cranks, supports, cable systems, servos, hydraulic pumps, valves, filters, reservoirs, and associated plumbing using 3
DEXPERIENCE (3DX) or CATIA V5 with LCA. - Conduct Finite Element Stress Analyses – Perform ANSYS simulations on components and assemblies, applying geometric tolerancing and dimensioning to validate structural integrity.
- Support Manufacturing Installation – Assist manufacturing teams during component installation, troubleshooting fit and function issues on the shop floor.
- Generate Technical Documentation – Produce and maintain design documentation, status reports, and installation guides for internal design and cross‑functional teams.
- Bachelor’s (or higher) degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or a related engineering discipline.
- Proven experience with mechanical systems design.
- Strong knowledge of hydraulic system components (pumps, valves, reservoirs, filters).
- Advanced proficiency in 3DX, CATIA V5, LCA, Matrix One, and ANSYS.
- Experience with geometric tolerancing.
- Experience with mechanical flight controls design.
US citizenship required as most programs and projects assigned are ITAR restricted.
