Mechanical Project Manager

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Project Manager to oversee commercial HVAC and piping installation projects from estimating through closeout. This role is responsible for planning, coordinating, and managing manpower and resources to ensure projects are delivered on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

The ideal candidate has strong experience in commercial mechanical construction, estimating, change order management, subcontractor coordination, and field leadership.
This position reports directly to the Operations Manager and works closely with field foremen, installers, subcontractors, and clients.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage commercial HVAC and mechanical piping projects from design through installation and closeout

• Develop accurate estimates and support the sales process as needed

• Schedule manpower and allocate resources to maintain project timelines

• Oversee field operations and maintain consistent on-site presence

• Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers

• Manage RFIs, submittals, purchase orders, and change orders

• Track labor productivity and project costs to ensure profitability

• Conduct project meetings with clients and general contractors

• Maintain project documentation and ensure contract compliance

• Enforce company safety standards and OSHA compliance

• Support hiring, training, and development of field personnel

Required Experience

• 5+ years of experience in HVAC, mechanical systems, and/or plumbing/piping construction

• Proven experience managing commercial mechanical installation projects

• Experience with estimating, buyouts, scheduling, and budget control

• Strong knowledge of boilers, chillers, hydronic piping, duct systems, and commercial HVAC systems

• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel required)

• Strong communication and leadership skills

• Valid driver's license

Preferred

• Experience with Procore or similar project management software

• Experience in healthcare, education, or commercial building environments

• Design-build project experience

• Strong background in change order negotiation and cost control
