POSITION SUMMARY

The Manufacturing Process Engineer-Aerospace specializes in creating and implementing machining methods and processes, with the goal of minimizing cost while increasing productivity. This position improves overall machining processes through analysis and planning and works persistently to drive the flow of the manufacturing process to ensure quality parts are delivered on time.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Create process plans that clearly define manufacturing procedures
  • Participate in process improvement, problem resolution, project management and employee training.
  • Create manufacturing processes and methods for critical aerospace components
  • Interfaces with customers and suppliers regarding manufacturing processes.
  • Render part models using 3D printing capabilities
  • Design, develop, and deliver manufacturing aids to the production floor
  • Support sales team by creating process plans and operation sheets as requested
  • Prepare internal company documentation to support manufacturing process
  • Review customer purchase orders, drawings, and specifications, while developing processes
  • Participate in PFMEAs
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
  • 2-5 years of equivalent work experience preferred
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes as attained through experience in an aerospace or similar machining facility
  • Experience with CAD software, such as Solid Works or Catia, to interrogate solid models and extract critical feature and dimensional data
  • Ability to read and interpret technical data and process specifications
  • Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills and abilities, maintaining professional interaction with internal and external customers
  • Demonstrated problem solver familiar with root cause analysis techniques
  • Ability to act and think analytically with exceptional attention to detail
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of Lean manufacturing techniques with ability to design robust processes to eliminate waste
