In the Production Operations APEX (Achieving Performance Excellence) office, we lead transformational change across all sites using Lean, Six Sigma, and business process management tools.

Work

As a Continuous Improvement Engineer in the Production Operations APEX office, you’ll be a key catalyst for change, partnering with teams across Operations to identify and implement impactful business improvements. Your role will include:

  • Leading and supporting continuous improvement projects across all areas of Operations
  • Applying Lean, Six Sigma, and Industrial Engineering techniques to reduce waste and enhance processes
  • Serving as a business partner to Performance Management Teams (PMTs), guiding them in problem solving, conflict resolution, and alignment with key performance goals
  • Defining project scopes, measuring ROI, facilitating cross‑functional collaboration, and tracking key metrics
  • Motivating and influencing cross‑functional teams to drive a culture of excellence
  • Supporting communication and change management strategies to ensure project success and long‑term sustainability
  • Participating in and sometimes leading special initiatives that require a strong foundation in project management and continuous improvement methodologies
Who You Are

You’re a passionate, results‑driven professional with a talent for seeing both the big picture and small details. You’re energized by identifying inefficiencies and leading efforts to eliminate them while building strong partnerships and influencing change across an organization. You bring:

  • Experience with Lean, Six Sigma (preferably certified), and/or Industrial Engineering
  • Strong communication, facilitation, and team leadership skills
  • Proven project management experience with a track record of driving measurable results
  • The ability to motivate others, resolve conflict, and align stakeholders toward a shared vision
  • A continuous improvement mindset with a desire to make a tangible impact across the business
Basic Qualifications
  • 3+ years of related experience and may have a post‑secondary degree or training in a related discipline
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certified
  • Prior work in a production environment
  • Demonstrated experience in project management and leading teams
  • Prior experience developing project business cases
Desired Skills
  • Ability to pull data from various sources, interpret it, and develop actionable insights
  • Past experience collaborating cross‑functionally and working in a team environment
  • Strong communication, presentation, and leadership skills
  • Competency in using Microsoft Office suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, etc.)
  • Lean Six Sigma Black Belt Certified
  • Previous knowledge of LM APEX and initiatives and/or Sikorsky Production System
  • Experience working with a represented workforce
  • Understanding of Cost Account Manager (CAM) principles and Earned Value Management (EVM)
  • Prior work experience in a continuous improvement role
