Position: Laboratory Operator - Sample Prep (Segment 1; Aerospace)

Your

Key Responsibilities

* Use standard techniques to prepare samples for evaluation of specified metallurgical characteristics.

* Set up and operation of cut off saw, mounting presses, grinding/polishing units and other sample preparation equipment.

* Follow and accurately record data as directed or required in routers, IMS and any other production tracking systems.

* Perform routine dimensional, hardness and ferromat inspections.

* Troubleshoot problems as they arise and take the necessary corrective action according to standard departmental procedures.

* Required to perform inspection of own work.

* Required to train other operators as needed.

* May be required to work in other departments or occasionally to set up a machine for others to operate.

* Ability to read and interpret production prints as required by routered operation.

* Requires adequate computer skills to access production procedures to perform the required work.

* Responsible for excellent housekeeping and maintaining 5S in all areas.

* Meet the skill requirements identified in the applicable training matrix and maintain certification through company Certified Operator Program.

Your Qualifications

* Education:

Grade 12 diploma
