Overview
Function:
Maintain and coordinate aircraft fueling facility according to flight operations requirements, and operate fuel trucks and related equipment to perform aircraft fueling and defueling operations per GOSM requirements.
- Follow established fuel provisioning and requisitioning procedures, inventory control and allocation, fueling safety precautions, vehicle maintenance procedures, maintenance department rules and regulations to control the overall dispensing of fuel for aircraft.
- Perform the regular duties of Fuel Truck Driver and coordinate aircraft fueling service activities to sustain flight operations.
- Maintain records of total fuel dispensed, amounts drawn from bulk storage, charge or credit of fuel per aircraft, and forward information to Production Control for perpetual inventory of fuel supply.
- Follow up on requisitioning of additional fuel.
- Receive incoming fuel for bulk storage and verify amount received.
- Coordinate aircraft fueling services with flight operations schedules and requirements for each day’s activities.
- Perform fueling, defueling and calibrating operations, maintain fuel facility, inventory, records and reports; and perform daily maintenance and inspection of utility and auxiliary power and fuel facility and fueling equipment per GOSM requirements.
- Maintain and perform all applicable testing of fuel as required per GOSM requirements.
- Direct one or two others in covering fueling assignments.
- Report any difficulties in providing fuel services, method of handling, safety violations, operation of vehicles and equipment, etc., to Supervisor or Hanger Management.
- Recommend changes or modifications of system to improve aircraft fueling services.
- When emergency or unusual conditions arise in operations of maintenance department or at request of supervisor, may be assigned to other maintenance duties usually of a less skilled nature.
- Perform operator checklist as required.
- Contribute to the overall effectiveness of equipment by performing operator required upkeep.
- Follow all rules and regulations pertaining to environmental health and safety.
- Segregate waste material and follow good housekeeping practices.
- Refer only unusual conditions to Working Leader or supervisor.
Basic Qualifications:
1-3 years experience.
Elementary knowledge of clerical methods, forms, and records with ability to use arithmetical calculations, compile simple reports, and coordinate aircraft fueling services.
Requires vehicle operator’s license.
