Mechanical Engineer, CAD/ AutoCAD/ Mechanical Design, Process Engineer, Engineering Design & Technologists
As our Mechanical Designer you will report to the Director of Operations and provide detailed mechanical drawings, bill of materials, and support for fabrication and shop processes.
Responsibilities- Collect engineer and customer specifications and create accurate mechanical drawings following departmental standards.
- Perform proficient minor load calculations.
- Assume responsibility of lead designer on larger complex projects.
- Complete and submit customer approval drawings and correspond with customers regarding approvals.
- Contact customers or project managers with drawing‑related questions.
- Perform or lead design reviews with internal and external customers to accurately represent fabricated equipment.
- Complete a bill of materials and load material for designs in purchasing software.
- Monitor and initiate additional work authorizations for drawing changes.
- Provide support for material requisitions, work authorizations, estimates, and project management.
- Collaborate with Process Engineers to create process piping 3D system models based on customer specifications and PIDs.
- Develop and verify fabrication, general arrangement, base frame assembly, construction, weld map, slope, and heat map drawings along with piping bills of materials.
- Identify BPE (Pharmaceutical grade) requirements, sanitary and good manufacturing practices.
- Meet or exceed project deadlines and budgets.
- Participate in the Team Improvement Board (TIB) process and reduce waste.
- Present the team’s TIB during the GEMBA walk representing Systems Design Team plans and improvements.
- Associate degree or equivalent in mechanical or architectural design, or combination of education and 1‑3 years mechanical design experience.
- 1‑3+ years experience with weld symbols and welding processes.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Inventor, advanced knowledge of 3‑D solids and UCS orientations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
- Experience with tank and vessel design, BPE/ASME desired (not required).
- Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future.
This position is onsite.
