HR & Benefits Administrator
The HR & Benefits Administrator serves as a key partner to both leadership and employees, with hands-on involvement across benefits, payroll, recruiting, and HR operations. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working closely with people, is comfortable with HR technology, and thrives in an onsite, relationship-driven environment. The position has been created to provide additional bench strength within HR as the organization plans for future retirement and continued growth.
The successful candidate will be engaged, outgoing, detail-oriented, and eager to learn, with a genuine interest in employee benefits and HR processes.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary contact for employee benefit questions, including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, and retirement programs.
- Administer employee benefits through the HRIS, including processing new hires, terminations, qualifying life events, and open enrollment changes.
- Collaborate with insurance carriers and brokers and navigate carrier portals and HR systems to ensure benefits data accuracy and compliance.
- Test and audit benefit and payroll calculations to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies promptly.
- Maintain employee records, benefits files, and confidential HR documentation in an organized and secure manner.
- Support payroll processing activities with the opportunity to grow into full payroll ownership over time.
- Assist with auditing payroll data and coordinating updates within the HR system to maintain data integrity.
- Support recruiting efforts for a small number of roles at a time, typically 1–2 openings.
- Coordinate phone screens, onsite interviews, and candidate communications to ensure a professional and timely hiring process.
- Assist with onboarding and offboarding activities, helping to ensure a smooth and positive employee experience.
- Work within ERP and HRIS platforms, including Paylocity, to manage HR and benefits data.
- Utilize Microsoft Excel for reporting, auditing, and data tracking related to HR, benefits, and payroll.
- Support HR technology initiatives and process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy across HR operations.
- Provide general human resources administration and employee relations support as needed.
- Perform data entry and administrative support tasks related to HR, benefits enrollment, open enrollment, and payroll.
Essential
Skills:
- Experience in benefits administration, including experience with medical, dental, vision, life, disability, and retirement programs.
- Exposure to payroll processes and comfort supporting payroll activities.
- Experience supporting recruiting efforts, including coordination of interviews and candidate communications.
- Comfort working onsite in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong communication skills, with a well-spoken, approachable, and professional demeanor.
- Experience in human resources administration and employee relations.
- Hands-on experience with benefits enrollment and open enrollment processes.
- Proficiency with HR systems and HRIS platforms.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including strong skills in Microsoft Excel.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry, auditing, and recordkeeping.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
Additional Skills &
Qualifications:
- Hands-on experience with Paylocity HRIS.
- Experience working in ERP systems.
- HR or related degree.
- Interest in growing long-term within an HR function.
- Experience providing administrative support within HR, benefits, or payroll.
- Ability to support HR technology initiatives and process improvement projects.
- Comfort working in a relationship-driven, onsite environment with direct exposure to higher level leadership.
Work Environment:
This role is fully onsite, Monday through Friday, from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM. The position is based in Stratford, WI. The facility is a clean, well-maintained manufacturing environment with a strong investment in technology and innovation. The work setting offers long-term stability with succession planning in mind and provides direct exposure to higher level leadership. HR and benefits work is supported by HRIS platforms, including Paylocity, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office tools, particularly Excel.
