Field Service Technician

Overview

• Provide on‑site technical support to customers ensuring all equipment sold is functioning properly and is in good repair.
• Perform Hazard Safety Assessments prior to each job.
• Listen and respond to customer needs/requests; then provide value‑added effective solutions and/or support.
• Weld using TIG and MIG techniques to quality standards.
• Complete all necessary paperwork and quality checks for team associates.
• Work closely with Manager, Customer Care Representatives and Sales personnel to ensure good communication and relationships with the customer.
• Set up welding equipment for various welding types.
• Read and understand blueprints for the selection of materials, measurements and weld types; perform work to specified tolerances.
• Handle raw materials and prepare material for fabrication.
• Use hand tools for the manufacturing of customer orders.
• When required, grind and polish steel according to customer requirements and quality standards.
• Locate finish specifications on blueprints and perform finishing work to specified tolerances.
• Maintain a complete understanding of all material and weld finishes and the processes to achieve them.
• Troubleshoot malfunctioning equipment and provide effective solutions.
• Complete all time and expense reporting weekly.
• Comply with all A&B and Customer safety/housekeeping/compliance policies and guidelines.
• Order/deliver parts to customers as needed.
• Manage equipment repairs/overhaul so performance meets JBT Marel and Customer standards and schedules.
• Instruct and train customer operators and mechanics on safe operation and maintenance of equipment.
• Perform final inspections on rebuilt/repaired equipment.
• Travel to customer sites as needed (must have a valid driver’s license).
• Generate timely and accurate call reports and report problem areas or needed improvements on all equipment.
• Perform courtesy visits to customers to review installed equipment, discuss performance, identify opportunities for service work, and new equipment sales or installation work.
• When not performing Service Technician duties, perform other field service work or work within plants as assigned.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Manager.
