Maintenance Technician

Streetsboro Plastics Operations

Requisition

Shift: Night - 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM, Rotating Shift Schedule
Shift Premium Amount: $2.00
Pay Rate: $27.00

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Performs trouble shooting, calibration, and repair of production equipment as needed to always keep lines operational.
  • Performs scheduled preventative maintenance to identify and replace failed components such as bearings, belts, motors, etc.
  • Can read and interpret equipment manuals, drawings, schematics, blueprints, and work orders to perform required maintenance.
  • Dismantles/disassembles defective machines and equipment and installs new or repaired parts, using specifications and/or blueprints, precision measuring instruments, and hand tools.
  • Calibrations and adjustments on various types of devices and production control systems.
  • Understands facilities, mechanical/electrical systems and their component functions and relationships; and is competent in their troubleshooting and repair
  • Assists other maintenance and production team members as required in support of plant goals.
  • Equipment selection - able to determine the kind of tools and equipment needed to perform the work.
Qualifications
  • HS Diploma or equivalent
  • 1-3 years of experience in a maintenance or trade skills role
  • Knowledge of at least 5/10 of the following skills: electrical systems, PLC troubleshooting, pneumatics, preventive maintenance, compressors, welding, plumbing, conveyers, hydraulics, and pumps.
  • Able to interface and cooperate well with production line workers and supervisors, with a strong customer service mindset.
  • Basic math, reading, and computer skills (Microsoft Word & Excel, Outlook)
  • Ability to solve problems and apply critical thinking.
  • Able to work effectively and efficiently as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing safety programs (PPE, LOTO, Arc Flash)
  • Experience with plastic production equipment a plus.
  • Ability to operate cranes, forklift, and other related equipment preferred.
  • Experience with 240V electrical systems preferred.
Physical Requirements
  • Frequent standing, walking, and bending.
  • Pushing, pulling, lifting at least 50lbs.
  • Eye/hand coordination.
