GENERALJOB DESCRIPTION
Manufacturing painters are responsible for applying paints and coatings according to provided instructions, procedures, and specifications to a variety of materials and surfaces. Painters are responsible for delivering quality parts compliant with all requirements and reporting issues and needs clearly.
RESPONSIBILITIES Paint Department- Read and interpret travelers, prints, and instructions on color, gloss, texture, and masking
- Prepare paint and coatings and use equipment to implement proper mix ratios
- Track and place orders for material in response to inventory levels
- Control material costs by maximizing efficiency and material usage
- Perform other duties as assigned to meet business needs
- Inspect parts prior to processing and report defects accordingly
- Monitor parts throughout the paint process to ensure delivery of quality parts
- Adhere to regulatory, safety, customer, and internal guidelines for material handling
- Maintain clean, orderly, and organized work area
- Other duties as assigned
- HS diploma or equivalent
- Prior experience with HVLP painting and auto body work is preferred
- Knowledge of paint formulation or color matching systems is preferred
- Prior knowledge or experience is not a direct requirement, training will be provided as needed
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time, lift over 50 pounds and lifting above the shoulders, hand and arm motion, and kneeling and stooping frequently
- Ability to work in an environment which consists of exposure to fumes and chemicals as well as moderate noise
- Visual acuity and attention to detail
