GENERAL

JOB DESCRIPTION

Manufacturing painters are responsible for applying paints and coatings according to provided instructions, procedures, and specifications to a variety of materials and surfaces. Painters are responsible for delivering quality parts compliant with all requirements and reporting issues and needs clearly.

RESPONSIBILITIES Paint Department

• Read and interpret travelers, prints, and instructions on color, gloss, texture, and masking
• Prepare paint and coatings and use equipment to implement proper mix ratios
• Track and place orders for material in response to inventory levels
• Control material costs by maximizing efficiency and material usage
• Perform other duties as assigned to meet business needs

Quality Assurance

• Inspect parts prior to processing and report defects accordingly
• Monitor parts throughout the paint process to ensure delivery of quality parts
• Adhere to regulatory, safety, customer, and internal guidelines for material handling
• Maintain clean, orderly, and organized work area
• Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

• HS diploma or equivalent
• Prior experience with HVLP painting and auto body work is preferred
• Knowledge of paint formulation or color matching systems is preferred
• Prior knowledge or experience is not a direct requirement, training will be provided as needed

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

• Positive attitude and willingness to learn
• Ability to stand for extended periods of time, lift over 50 pounds and lifting above the shoulders, hand and arm motion, and kneeling and stooping frequently
• Ability to work in an environment which consists of exposure to fumes and chemicals as well as moderate noise
• Visual acuity and attention to detail
• Reliable transportation
