Job Description

Role Overview:

As the final checkpoint before our products reach the customer, you ensure that every header and catback exhaust system leaving Stainless Works meets our premium performance and aesthetic standards. This is a hands-on role requiring a sharp eye for detail and the mechanical aptitude to perform minor finishing and fabrication corrections before parts transition to the packaging department. No welding is required for this position.

Core Responsibilities:

• Final Inspection: Perform rigorous visual and dimensional checks on all headers and catback exhaust systems prior to packaging. Inspect for precise mandrel bends, correct port alignment, and flawless surface finish.
• Minor Fabrication & Touch-Up: Execute light hands-on work to correct minor aesthetic or fitment defects rather than kicking parts back down the line. This includes deburring, polishing, buffing out surface scratches, and manually adjusting brackets or hangers.
• Defect Tracking: Log recurring quality issues and scrap metrics into Fulcrum to help management identify upstream production bottlenecks or training opportunities.
• Cross-Team Collaboration: Provide direct, constructive feedback to the welding and bending departments when consistent errors are caught at the inspection table.
• Staging: Ensure approved products are properly prepped, paired with the correct hardware kits (clamps, etc.), and safely handed off to the packaging team.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Metal Finish Experience: Background in manufacturing quality control, metal finishing, or basic metal fabrication.
• Tool Proficiency: Comfortable operating die grinders, deburring tools, polishing wheels, and basic measuring instruments (calipers, tape measures, check fixtures).
• Attention to Detail: Ability to spot pinpoint defects, porosity in upstream welds, or slight misalignments that could compromise a high-performance exhaust system.
• Blueprint Literacy: Ability to read and interpret basic manufacturing drawings and check fixtures.
• Physical Stamina: Capable of safely lifting, rotating, and maneuvering heavy stainless steel exhaust components throughout the shift.
