GENERALJOB DESCRIPTION
The Quality Control Inspector will work closely with the Operations department to ensure all products being manufactured will meet customer expectations and all customer requirements. The Quality Control Inspector will be responsible for inspecting products and materials to ensure they are free from defects or deviations from customer specifications.
RESPONSIBILITIES Ensure all quality documentation is filled out as required- Conduct and document quality inspections of in-process and finished goods to ensure quality conforms to specified requirements (dimensionally, visually, in-process, etc.)
- Ensure parts are being manufactured in accordance with the company’s Quality Management System
- Provide immediate feedback on quality of parts to QC Manager and Operations
- Ensure all parts are inspected, documented, and put in the proper location in a timely manner
- Ensure calibrations are completed on time and documented
- Initiate and follow up of Nonconformances as required
- Report all unusual conditions or results, unsafe conditions, broken or out of calibration equipment, and procedures not in effect to Quality Management
- Maintain a clean work environment to eliminate potential product contamination
- Implement and follow inspection processes
- Suggest improvements in workflow and equipment to make inspection more efficient and effective
- Perform verification of operator in-process checks
- At least 1 year of manufacturing or quality control experience or a degree in related field
- Knowledge of ISO standards or willingness and/or ability to learn
- Knowledge of manufacturing and quality principles
- Basic knowledge of measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, comparators, etc.)
- Basic understanding of manufacturing processes (milling, turning, EDM, injection molding, paint, etc.)
- Able to read and understand basic mechanical drawings
- Strong technical and analytical skills
- Ability to work independently without direct supervision
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Reliable transportation
- Mechanical aptitude
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time, lift up to 25 pounds, bend into machinery, and perform lifting, push/pull tasks, kneeling and stooping motions, ability to push buttons, fine motor skills.
