NAPA Counter Sales associateAs a NAPA Counter Sales associate, you are the “face” of the retail store and the go‑to person for customers entering our stores for all automotive needs. You need a background and knowledge of automotive parts, and it’s a great opportunity to grow within the NAPA family.
What you will be doing- Provide auto‑parts answers and solutions for retail and wholesale customers both in person and over the phone.
- Use your parts knowledge to assist other NAPA team members in answering customer questions.
- Deliver outstanding customer care during every interaction.
- Maintain a high‑energy, customer‑focused attitude in a fast‑paced environment.
- Welcome retail customers and engage to provide a positive experience.
- Utilize technology (computer), cash register, telephone, and paper catalog system.
- Enjoy helping retail and wholesale customers with auto‑parts and service questions.
- Have experience working in the automotive industry or have tinkered with cars and trucks.
- Are willing to learn all aspects of automotive parts.
- Want a team that offers growth and development opportunities.
- Valid Driver’s License
- Previous experience in a parts store or automotive industry, or willingness to learn.
- High School Diploma or GED; technical or trade school courses or degree are a plus.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Affinity for fast‑paced retail environments.
- Strong listening skills and customer empathy.
- Background or passion for automotive, heavy equipment, farm industry, diesel, marine, or dealership.
- Experience in a parts store, auction, retail store, or auto body/collision.
- Knowledge of cataloging and/or inventory management systems.
- Customer‑centric mindset for external and internal customers.
- ASE certifications are a plus.
