Supervisor, Field Service

This role requires the ability to work lawfully in the U.S. without employment-based immigration sponsorship, now or in the future.

• Supervise installation and service activities to meet customer expectations, technical quality standards, employee productivity, and company safety requirements.
• Maximize customer satisfaction through quality craftsmanship and operational excellence of the customer premise network.
• Hire, train, develop, and evaluate the performance of the team.
• Provide quality assurance support and direction to field staff for new or existing technologies.
• Perform field safety observations and quality control checks in accordance with company TQA requirements.
• Resolve and proactively prevent customer escalations.
• Establish positive employee relations through effective communication and ongoing support.
• Ensure responsiveness and first‑time resolution to installation and trouble‑call work orders.

• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Ability to communicate effectively with employees, customers, and suppliers in person, on the phone, and in written communications.
• Advanced understanding of the TCP/IP stack and associated abstraction layers.
• Advanced knowledge of network designs, architectures, and topologies.
• Basic knowledge of using software tools to support current operations.
• Knowledge of basic network devices and appliances; ability to safely use weight‑bearing equipment (e.g., gaffs, safety harnesses, ladders).
• Ability to use a personal computer and Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to operate test equipment such as signal level meters, ohm meters, etc.
• Ability to use handheld communication devices and applications.
• Work and travel in inclement weather.
• Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record within company standards.

Associate’s degree in electronics or a related field, or equivalent work experience. Industry and vendor‑specific certifications and training (NCTI, SCTE, BCT/E). Field technician work experience preferred – 3+ years. Supervisory experience in a technical environment preferred or equivalent work experience.

Relevant higher education or additional certifications beyond the required education.

Supervisory or leadership experience – 1+ year.

• Work indoors in confined or poorly ventilated spaces such as attics during extreme heat or cold.
• Exposure to dust, dirt, noise, insects, rodents, pets, and cleaning solutions.
• Work in commercial or factory‑type environments.
• Work outdoors in all kinds of weather and at all times of day or night.
• Work performed near power lines and electricity.
• Work and travel in inclement weather.
• Some work may be performed in an office environment.
• Work performed at various heights on telephone/power poles.
• Occasional out‑of‑town and overnight travel as business needs dictate.
• Occasional overtime and weekend or second shift work as business needs dictate.

• Use hand tools such as electric drills, hammers, wrenches, screwdrivers.
• Walk over all types of terrain in all weather while carrying tools and equipment.
• Accurately take measurements and apply them to positioning tasks.
• Carry, climb, and operate an extension ladder (approx. 32 ft, 90 lbs).
• Perform work from high places (e.g., poles and roofs).
• Differentiating between different sizes and colors of wires.
• Work with small components and wires to make cable connections.
• Make cable connections in tight spaces by bending, reaching, twisting.
• Walk over all terrain while carrying ladders, safety equipment, and tool belts.
