Maintenance Technician
Soft Lite Windows & Doors is seeking a skilled, hands-on Maintenance Technician to support manufacturing operations at our Streetsboro, Ohio facility.
This is more than a repair role. As a Maintenance Technician, you will have a direct and visible impact on plant productivity. Your ability to troubleshoot equipment, complete repairs, and build effective preventive maintenance practices helps keep production moving, minimizes downtime, and improves the reliability of the equipment our teams depend on every day.
We are looking for someone who takes real ownership of their work—someone who enjoys diagnosing problems, finding the root cause, and seeing the direct results of their efforts on the plant floor. This is an opportunity to apply and continue developing your electrical, mechanical, automation, and safety skills while working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
What You'll Do:
Own Equipment Reliability and Troubleshooting
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and automated manufacturing equipment.
- Troubleshoot PC/PLC-controlled equipment, sensors, drives, and other industrial control systems.
- Use electrical schematics, technical documentation, and hands-on diagnostic skills to identify root causes and restore equipment to operation.
- Respond to equipment issues and production downtime with a sense of urgency, helping minimize disruptions and maintain plant productivity.
- Coordinate with OEM technical support and other resources when additional expertise is needed to complete complex repairs.
- Take ownership of problems from initial diagnosis through repair, follow-up, and prevention of future failures.
Drive Preventive and Proactive Maintenance
- Perform preventive maintenance on critical production equipment, including welders, cutting systems, conveyors, and automated assembly equipment.
- Identify early signs of wear, deterioration, and potential equipment failure before they become larger production issues.
- Help develop, improve, and execute preventive maintenance procedures and schedules.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and contribute to continuous improvement efforts that strengthen equipment reliability and uptime.
- Look beyond the immediate repair to identify opportunities to prevent recurring problems.
Make an Impact on Plant Productivity
- Work closely with production, engineering, and plant leadership to resolve equipment challenges and improve operational performance.
- Bring forward ideas that improve equipment reliability, safety, maintainability, and overall plant efficiency.
- Prioritize work based on production needs while maintaining a strong focus on quality and safe work practices.
- See the direct impact of your technical expertise: when equipment runs better, production performs better.
Maintain a Safe and Organized Workplace
- Follow all company safety policies, OSHA requirements, and established maintenance procedures.
- Apply lockout/tagout and other safe work practices consistently.
- Ensure repairs and modifications meet required safety and operational standards.
- Help maintain an organized, professional work environment where tools, equipment, and work spaces are kept to high standards.
What You'll Bring:
Required Qualifications

- Strong troubleshooting knowledge in: PLC and computer-controlled equipment, industrial electrical and electronic systems, pneumatic systems, mechanical systems and machine repair.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, technical diagrams, and equipment documentation.
- Experience troubleshooting and repairing automated manufacturing equipment.
