Viking Forge is looking for an Industrial Maintenance Technician who has a positive attitude and takes pride in their work. A respectful, dependable person who has a strong work ethic and pays attention to detail. A person with strong problem-solving skills and a willingness to try different ideas if the normal industry standard practice is not working. This position requires a safety-oriented person who has quick thinking skills and can hold their composure under stressful situations.

We need someone who can be a team player and work alone depending on the workload.

• Work area cleanliness – clean and restore the area after tasks are completed.
• Perform daily “walk the floor” inspections with quick visual and auditory checks of equipment.
• Document any questions or concerns found during inspections.
• Answer maintenance calls promptly, diagnose and repair equipment issues.
• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on equipment.
• Clearly communicate across all departments.

• Knowledge of grease and oil systems.
• Welding – MIG, stick, cutting torches, plasma cutter, and heavy impact guns.
• Ability to understand blueprints, schematics, and OEM manuals.
• Ability to operate a tow motor, scissor lift, boom lift, and overhead cranes.
• Mechanical teardown and reassembly of mechanical forge and trim presses, cold saws, shears, shot blast machines, conveyors, cooling towers, and pumps.
• Electrical installation, troubleshooting, and repair of PLC systems.
• Experience with 12V to 480V 3-phase.
• Hydraulic/pneumatic troubleshooting, installation, and repair.
• Have the ability to properly use hand tools and power tools.
• Critical Measurements – ability to use calipers, micrometers, etc.
• Light Machining – ability to use a virtual mill (“Bridgeport”), manual lathe, and magnetic base drill.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities with a focus on root cause and implementing long-term solutions.

$25.00-$35.00 per hour

Compensation will be based on experience, technical knowledge, and qualifications.
