Position Overview

At PNC, our people are our greatest differentiator and competitive advantage in the markets we serve. As a Data Engineer Senior within PNC's Data Product Organization, you will be based in Pittsburgh, PA, Strongsville, OH, Dallas, TX, or Birmingham, AL.

• Act as an internal consultant for other data engineering and technical teams to enhance and optimize the quality of their code, ensuring adherence to engineering best practices.
• Demonstrate data literacy skills to describe business outcomes, data uses, data sources, and management concepts and analytical approaches to all organizational levels.
• Initiate and develop solutions as part of a team; review architecture and identify opportunities for automation, optimization, right‑sizing, and cost reduction.
• Design, build, and test data integration processes between business‑critical applications to solve complex problems within financial services.
• Define and implement internal process improvements through detailed analytics that provide actionable insights into key business performance metrics.
• Command Hadoop, Spark 3.x, Python, Kafka, and complex orchestration tools.
• Communicate and lead a group of data engineers.
• Work independently within a fast‑paced agile environment.
• Lead the development of data solutions, including data requirements analysis and data preparation, across multiple applications.
• Design and build data service infrastructure on multiple data platforms according to workflow needs.
• Oversee the scalability, availability, and maintainability of data solutions.
• Consult on data migration and transformation to ensure accuracy and security.

• Data Engineer Lead Experience

• University or college degree, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 5+ years of industry‑relevant experience.
• Proficiency in big data technologies and data architecture.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Experience with application delivery processes and software development life cycle.
• Effective communication skills.
• Leadership experience.

Base Salary: $65,000.00 – $. Salaries may vary based on geographic location, market data, and individual skills, experience, and education. This role is incentive eligible based on performance.
