Denver, CO or Phoenix, AZ. The role focuses on designing, building, and maintaining cryptographic solutions and ensuring compliance with industry standards.

This Security Engineer will leverage technical knowledge and industry experience to develop and support secure technology solutions. Responsibilities include architecture collaboration, security assessments, documentation, and production support.

• Provide subject‑matter expertise when applying security concepts.
• Collaborate with architecture teams to translate high‑level designs into implementation details, including sizing and integration.
• Evaluate patches, updates, and ongoing maintenance; assess impacts of new standards.
• Develop detailed implementation, configuration, design, and engineering documentation.
• Work with operational partners to enable transition and day‑to‑day supportability.
• Provide engineering support to existing technology in a production environment and collaborate with other groups as required.

• Cryptographic Platforms and Tooling
  • Enterprise centralized cryptographic program and lifecycle management.
  • Key management solutions across cloud (AWS, Azure) and data platforms (MSSQL, Oracle, Linux, MongoDB, Pure, Neo4j).
  • Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) lifecycle management, issuance, renewal, and troubleshooting.
  • Application layer protection technologies and tokenization strategies.
  • Integration of cryptographic inventory across platforms.
• Cryptographic Agility and Quantum‑Safe Technologies
  • Familiarity with post‑quantum tooling and quantum‑safe technologies.
  • Understanding of quantum computing impact on enterprise security.
• Hands‑on experience with cryptographic platforms and tools
  • Key Management:
    Oracle Key Manager, Thales Cipher Trust Manager.
  • HSMs:
    Thales, SWIFT, Entrust.
  • PKI/Certificate Management:
    Venafi, Microsoft ADCS.
  • Tokenization:
    Protegrity.
  • Cryptographic Inventory:
    Agile Sec Analytics.
• Enterprise Standard Tools
  • Workflow and collaboration platforms (Jira, Confluence, SharePoint, Service Now).
  • Data visualization and reporting tools with ability to support reporting, dashboarding and analytics.
  • Open Search (preferred).
• Compliance, Regulatory, and Industry Knowledge
  • Knowledge of PCI standards, FIPS requirements, NIST cryptographic guidance.
  • Foundational understanding of cryptographic agility principles.
  • Familiarity with industry guidance and collaboration bodies (G7, FS‑ISAC, FSSCC, CNSA) related to PQC roadmap development.

• Ability to deliver both initiatives and business‑as‑usual activities to completion.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Precision in implementing and validating cryptographic controls and processes.
• Communication skills to translate complex technical concepts for non‑technical stakeholders.
• Continuous learning mindset related to evolving security threats and standards.
• Clear and concise documentation production (policies, procedures, technical designs, executive‑level materials).
• Forward‑thinking mindset with an ability to consider long‑term implications.
• Define and track metrics and KRIs to measure control effectiveness and program maturity.

• Certifications in cryptographic technologies or EC Council's Certified Encryption Specialist.
• Participation in cryptographic working groups or standards bodies (FS‑SIAC, X9, PKI Consortium).

• University or community college degree, or comparable combination of education, job‑specific certification(s), and experience (including military service).
• 5+ years of industry‑relevant experience.
• No required certification or license; preferred certifications listed above.

Base Salary: $91,000.00 - $. Salaries may vary based on geographic location, market data, and individual skills, experience, and education. This role is incentive eligible with compensation linked to company and individual performance.
