What is a Material Handler?

The Material Handler performs routine activities related to the storing, stocking, and handling of materials, systems, and products. This is a first‑shift position with hours from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

What We’re Looking For

The ideal candidate will have recent experience in a material‑handling position within a manufacturing environment.

Duties and Responsibilities

Ensure accurate documentation and tracking of materials and inventory.

Visually inspect product to ensure it has not been damaged or deteriorated during handling, storage, packaging, or shipping.

Perform routine preventative maintenance to maintain equipment in top operational order.

Track inventory and prepare documentation on a computer as needed.

Effectively perform material‑handling activities such as crating, packing, shipping, receiving, picking, lifting, moving, and using equipment when necessary (e.g., lift trucks, tow motors, cranes, high lifts).

Utilize small and large tools, hoists, dollies, and other devices when necessary.

Comply with all safety procedures in each area assigned, including wearing protective clothing and handling chemicals or products safely.

Interact and communicate with all levels of employees, suppliers, customers, and peers effectively.

Comply with company policies, procedures, standards, and rules.

Maintain quality‑assurance policy consistent with ISO standards.

Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe work area.

Maintain punctual, regular, and consistent attendance.

Perform all other job‑related duties as assigned.

Required Experience and Education

Tow motor experience is preferred.
One year of related manufacturing experience is preferred.
Previous experience in a material‑handling department is preferred.
Must be computer literate.
Ability to handle non‑routine, standard projects and tasks.
Ability to read simple blueprints and technical specifications.
Ability to read, write, and follow verbal instructions in Standard English.

Physical and Technical Environment

Regularly lift or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally up to 100 pounds using proper lifting techniques or equipment.
Regularly required to walk or stand, bend or twist, climb, reach with hands or arms.
Exposure to noise, dust, heat, and cold on a regular basis.
Must respond to changing requirements and working conditions.
Overtime may be required at periodic intervals to meet project deadlines.
