What is Shipping and Receiving?Shipping and Receiving employees will verify and keep records on incoming and outgoing shipments. Prepare items for shipment. Shipping duties include assembling, addressing, stamping and shipping merchandise or material; and arranging for the transportation of products. Receiving duties include receiving, unpacking, verifying and recording incoming merchandise or material.
What We’re Looking ForThe ideal candidate will have recent shipping and receiving experience. They will be comfortable using nail guns, saws and a tape measure. This is a 2nd shift position (Mon‑Thurs 3:30 pm‑1 am, Fri 3:30 pm‑7:30 pm). Training would be on 1st shift.
Duties and Responsibilities- One year related manufacturing experience preferred.
- Previous experience in a shipping or receiving department preferred.
- Ability to learn MAPICS.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook and the Internet required.
- Ability to handle routine projects and tasks with no supervision.
- Ability to handle non‑routine, standard projects and tasks.
- Must regularly lift or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 100 pounds, using proper lifting techniques or other available resources such as lifting or moving equipment or help from another employee.
- Regularly required to walk or stand, bend or twist, climb, reach with hands or arms.
- Clean and orderly manufacturing environment, some exposure to electrical and mechanical hazards.
- Exposure to noise, dust, heat and cold on a regular basis.
- Exposure to machine and tool hazards requiring care and attention to safety rules and standards.
