Technology Engineer Senior

The PNC Financial Services Group, Inc. seeks a Technology Engineer Senior under the Automation and Platform Organization in Strongsville, OH.

Duties include:

research, design, develop, and/or modify enterprise-wide systems and/or applications; develop software components for new and emerging technology projects, aligning with business strategies and objectives; design and implement software solutions, write code, deploy and provide maintenance support for software solutions; evaluate interface between hardware and software operational requirements, and characteristics of overall system; develop most complex, new and emerging technologies, select appropriate platforms and integrate and configure software solutions;

leverage technical knowledge and industry experience to design, build and maintain technology solutions that are robust, scalable and easily extensible; provide a systematic analysis on the most complex client requirements within the traceability framework and resolve any functional problems encountered; document the requirements, design, test plan and maintenance of project; maintain quality of complex project deliverables while ensuring compliance with relevant standards and processes;

and coach, mentor, consult junior team members to ensure that they are familiar with project requirements and company policies.

Bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or Computer Applications, plus 5 years of software development experience in a distributed, microservices environment using Java/J2EE technologies and my Batis and Oracle database technologies is required. Must have experience with: using software design principles and knowledge of all phases of software development to understand the roles and responsibilities of all teams and how they interact;

advanced programming skills including lambda functions in Java, multi-threading, concurrency and object-oriented programming; design and development of large-scale, fault-tolerant distributed applications, test-driven development, defensive coding and planning for scale, conducting code reviews and providing inputs in retrospective sessions; using backend technologies including core Java and J2EE, frameworks including Spring and Spring Boot and multi-threading concepts to develop quality software; handling application integration using middleware technologies including Apache Tomcat, JBoss, Glassfish, IBM Web Sphere Application Server and messaging services including Active MQ;

database technologies including relational databases and No

SQL databases including Mongo;
Web Services using SOAP (JAX-WS) and REST features; application security and vulnerability scanning with tools including Sonar Qube and Sonar Lint to maintain enterprise application security and comply with compliance process; identifying state-of-the-art technologies and making recommendations for system and process improvement; and collaborating with product, engineering and design team to define and implement requirements for the backend services, components, and interfaces.
