Laborers will be required to perform tasks involving physical work associated with all aspects of a site excavation project. A site excavation project may include but is not limited to; mass grading operations, underground utility construction that may include all of the following; sanitary sewers, storm sewers and waterlines, road boring and casing, culvert replacement, trenching and directional drilling. In addition, laborers will be required to perform tasks associated with the concrete, asphalt and landscaping.
Laborers are expected to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment typically outdoors in all weather conditions depending upon their individual assignments. Safety takes precedence on all Rudzik projects. Laborers must have knowledge of safe operation and driving practices as well as the understanding of all power tools needed to complete a given task. The Laborer will report directly to his Site Foreman and or Project Manager.
and Responsibilities
- Work as a part of a crew.
- Assist as required in all manual labor aspects of the project as directed by the Crew leader, Foreman, or Supervisor.
- Operate power tools and construction equipment (skid steers, cut-off saws, road brooms, vibratory compactors, etc.).
- Handle physically demanding construction duties.
Assist crew members in placing underground pipes and conduits that involves manual labor. - Performs daily preventative maintenance checks and services on equipment and machines.
- Performs other duties as needed.
- Valid unrestricted Driver’s License.
- Rudzik Excavating has a 100% Pre-employment drug testing requirement and performs random drug testing during employment.
Operators will be responsible for the operation of all required equipment necessary for the completion of any given project. Operators must have an in-depth knowledge and understand of the working limits of the equipment they are operating as well as an in-depth understanding of the project they are currently involved with. Operators must be aware of their surroundings at all times.

and Responsibilities
- Excavation and back filling of trenches as needed for the installation of pipe and precast concrete structures, grading, cut and fill operations and loading of trucks both tandem and off road.
- Placing of shoring and trench boxes, benching of slopes as needed to meet OSHA requirements.
- Operate dozers, excavators, graders, loaders, skid steers, compactors (vibratory, smooth drum, sheep’s foot) and boring machines.
- Operate equipment equipped with various hydraulic attachments (e.g. plate compactors, rock hammers, road saws and moles).
- Understand vehicle mounted GPS systems, how to establish grade and site control points.
- Performs daily preventative maintenance checks and services on equipment and machines.
- Work and communicate with field engineers and site foreman as needed for the successful completion of all projects.
- Completes daily field reports, work directly with the crew when needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Valid Driver’s License.
- OSHA safety training (8 hour minimum).

Site Foremen will be responsible for the supervision and management of all workers assigned to a specific project. Site Foreman will be responsible for the coordination of all activities of the workers engaged in the construction, installation and repair of structures and fixtures. Foremen must work within given tolerances. Assessing information based on the understanding of the project blueprints and or specifications is fundamental to a successful project.
