Position: Assistant Principal at the Struthers Elementary School

Job Description Assistant Principal 214 Days Struthers Elementary School Qualifications

  • Must have master's degree in educational administration and a valid Ohio Elementary School Principal certificate/license.
  • Previous elementary teaching and/or administrative experience preferred.
  • Child-centered decision maker, with a comprehensive view of education, a working knowledge of elementary curriculum and instruction, and a commitment to the development of all children.
  • Strong academic leadership skills, planning/organizational ability, and initiative.
  • Assist in planning, organizing, directing and controlling the operations of K-4 comprehensive elementary school, including but not limited to curricular and extracurricular activities before, during and after school.
  • Proven leadership qualities, professional ethics, and good character.
  • Strong knowledge base of instructional best practices at the elementary level.
  • Committed to effective technology integration to maximize student achievement.
  • Strong knowledge base and experience with special education programs, rules, and procedures.
  • Experience with building IAT teams and IEP meetings preferred.
  • Ability to maintain and support an effective MTSS process.
  • Knowledge of state standards and curriculum including innovative scheduling techniques, state mandates and law.
  • The ability to analyze state and local reports.
  • The ability to analyze data, interpret data, and solve problems.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to motivate, lead, and supervise staff.
  • Provide curricular and professional support to teachers.
  • Maintains high expectations for all students and staff, commitment to carrying out the goals of the district.
  • The ability to build positive relationships with staff, students, parents, community, and the administrative team.
  • The ability to create a positive educational environment, conducive to learning.
  • Knowledge of OIP and/or school improvement processes preferred.
  • Must be credentialed as an OTES Evaluator.
  • Perform all administrative and related duties as assigned by the superintendent.
