Talent Acquisition Specialist – Manufacturing & Skilled Trades

The Talent Acquisition Specialist partners closely with plant leadership and operations teams to attract, engage, and hire top hourly production and skilled trades talent across Astro Shapes manufacturing operations. This role serves as a hands-on recruiting partner, building strong relationships with site leaders to understand staffing priorities and maintain the workforce needed to support operational success.

The Talent Acquisition Specialist is responsible for full-cycle recruiting for hourly, skilled trades, and other frontline positions while developing proactive talent pipelines through community outreach, technical school partnerships, apprenticeship programs, job fairs, and local networking efforts. This position requires regular travel between company locations and active engagement within the communities Astro Shapes serves.

This role offers growth into broader Talent Acquisition responsibilities through partnership with the Talent Manager and exposure to professional, technical, and leadership recruiting initiatives.

• Manage full-cycle recruitment for hourly production, skilled trades, maintenance, and other frontline positions.
• Partner with plant managers and operations leaders to understand staffing needs and hiring priorities.
• Maintain an active presence at manufacturing locations to build relationships with hiring managers and employees.
• Source, screen, interview, and coordinate hiring activities for high-volume and hard-to-fill positions.
• Create candidate pipelines to support ongoing and anticipated hiring needs across multiple locations.
• Ensure an efficient and positive candidate experience throughout the recruiting process.

• Develop relationships with local technical schools, trade schools, career centers, workforce development organizations, and community partners.
• Represent Astro Shapes at job fairs, hiring events, school career days, and community outreach initiatives.
• Support recruitment marketing efforts that increase awareness of manufacturing and skilled trades career opportunities.
• Assist in developing apprenticeship, internship, and workforce development programs that create long-term talent pipelines.
• Build referral networks and community partnerships that strengthen recruiting efforts within local markets.

• Meet regularly with plant leadership to review open positions, hiring challenges, and recruiting progress.
• Serve as a trusted recruiting resource for operational leaders across multiple locations.
• Monitor recruiting metrics and provide updates on hiring activity, candidate pipelines, and recruitment effectiveness.
• Support onboarding and retention initiatives that improve the new hire experience.

• 2+ years of recruiting experience, preferably in manufacturing, skilled trades, industrial, logistics, construction, or other high-volume environments.
• Strong relationship-building and communication skills.
• Experience sourcing and recruiting hourly or skilled labor positions.
• Ability to travel regularly between company locations, schools, hiring events, and community partners.
• Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience recruiting for manufacturing, maintenance, skilled trades, or production positions preferred.
• Experience working with apprenticeship programs, workforce development initiatives, or technical schools preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field preferred.
• Experience with applicant tracking systems and sourcing platforms preferred.
• HRIS knowledge preferred, Dayforce a plus

• Travel between Astro Shapes locations is expected on a regular basis to support recruiting activities and maintain strong partnerships with plant leadership.
• Attend local and regional job fairs, technical school events, community outreach activities, and workforce development programs as needed.
• Estimated travel: 25% within our market, depending on hiring volume and business needs.
