The Blue Standard

A first of its kind cross-industry standard by Oceanic Global, the Blue Standard (Blue) empowers industries and businesses of all sizes to achieve measurable impact that protects our blue planet and establishes universal accountability for sustainable business leadership. Blue offers a 3-Star verification for business operations alongside open-source resources, step-by-step auditing and consultation support, and buying deals with vetted vendors to help businesses eliminate single-use plastics and operate sustainably.

Blue also offers Product and Packaging seals that verify Consumer Packaged Goods for meeting Blue's plastic-free criteria. To-date, Blue has worked with 480+ businesses internationally spanning across over 30 countries.

Business Development & Partnerships

• Responsible for driving program growth and expansion, leading end-to-end sales cycle opportunities including identifying new leads, ensuring consistent outreach, developing proposals, negotiating agreements, and executing on deliverables.
• Identify and lead the execution on programmatic strategic business development opportunities for the expansion of Blue globally through portfolio business opportunities, partnership integrations, diversifying stakeholder networks and more.
• Offer thought leadership and industry-specific value incentives in order to position Blue as a scalable solution across different industries.
• Expand and engage Blue networks including Blue Advisory Board, Blue Consultants, etc. and maintain relationships
• Work with synergistic sustainability standards and platforms to integrate and formalize partnerships with Blue.
• Develop and maintain strategic and community partnerships (brands, vendors, institutions, coalition-building efforts), and act as point of contact to develop partnership opportunities and oversee deliverables.
• Act as a forward-facing representative of Blue to underscore and amplify visibility for the program's thought leadership through participation in speaking engagements, press opportunities, and events.
• Lead Blue business and market transformation by generating interest in Blue and Oceanic Global programs including Grants that provide funding for additional Blue Verification or 360 partnerships

Strategy

• Develop and refine strategies, processes, and program value propositions that help streamline and optimize program growth and development.
• Includes new business development, partnerships and sales strategy, growth and relationship management strategy for global consulting network
• Identify and execute on new business development and partnerships strategy for the Blue Program
• Establish a growth and relationship management strategy for our global consultant network and ecosystem of partners
• Build and refine the strategy and positioning of the Blue Grants program
• Establish and execute on ongoing community building strategies for Blue expansion
• Evolve the Blue product suite to deliver the most value to the Blue community. Not limited to Educational resources, business resources, consulting resources and program positioning.
• Identify and integrate tools for the best metrics to use to measure the success of the program and oversee reporting on program impact.
• Work across teams to ensure Blue is integrated in all OG programmatic areas and lead on Blue related partnership scopes.
• Work with the Marketing Director to ensure Blue is effectively marketed to key stakeholders and the public throughout OG's marketing and communication channels

Program Development & Management

• Oversee and provide technical expertise & leadership related to single-use plastics & their alternatives, material science, waste management or other relevant topics to the Blue Standard team and clients across both consulting scopes and program thought leadership / innovation.
• Manage and expand program roadmap and KPIs including program expansion, impact, and team development.
• Work with the leadership team to evolve the program to increase visibility, impact metrics and optimize revenue models.
