The ARC of the Treasure Coast, a diverse and progressive nonprofit organization, is seeking Out-of-School Counselors to support our Out-of-School Program. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful impact by providing a safe, engaging, and supportive environment where children can learn, grow, and build lasting friendships.
Position DetailsSchedule:
Monday–Friday, 12:30 PM – 5:30 PM (approximately 25 hours per week)
- Provide care, supervision, and support to children during after-school program activities.
- Plan and facilitate age-appropriate recreational, educational, and enrichment activities.
- Encourage the development of communication, social, behavioral, and independent living skills.
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and engaging environment for all participants.
- Maintain regular communication with supervisors regarding participant progress and any concerns.
- Attend required training and professional development opportunities.
- Complete required documentation and program records accurately and timely.
- Safely transport participants using ARC vehicles for scheduled activities when assigned.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or GED (or currently enrolled in high school or a vocational program).
- Valid Florida driver's license with an acceptable driving record (preferred if transportation duties are required).
- Preferred:
At least one (1) year of experience working with children or individuals with developmental disabilities. - Must be dependable, energetic, patient, and passionate about making a difference in the lives of others.
